Torpedoes on Anaconda?

Anyone have any experience running class 1 torpedo pylons on the small hardpoints of their Anaconda? I'm running a trade loadout and I feel that they might prove useful on the rare occasion I get interdicted and can't/don't want to run. As it is I'm running small gimballed pulses back there and it just seems like a waste. Thanks!

Never had an Anaconda, but have used torpedoes. Big boom, big hull damage, useless if shields are up, need to lock onto a target and cost 40k a torpedo IIRC. I think you would be better served by seeker missiles.

For what you're wanting, yeah that's not a bad idea. Pack some lasers to drop shields first though, once the shields are down they'll give you the punch you need to turn the tables. Just remember they'll likely cook you a bit especially if you fire them both at the same time.
Seeker missiles don't have the punch to knock a single ship out in a hurry.

Thanks to a certain CMDR who camped out in the Old Worlds shortly after Elite: Dangerous was released, torpedoes and missiles were seriously nerfed.

To the point that I find them useless on pretty much any ship I have ever tried them on. They are only marginally effective against larger ships, but speaking as someone who prefers playing most of the time in my Federal Corvette, a pair of Point Defense turrets on the the top deck pretty much reduces missile threats to ZERO. ;)

If I were the OP, I would find a better use for those hardpoints, or... leave them empty! There is always something to be said for extended jump range! ;)

Im running a pair of torpedo launchers on my Corvette's small hardpoints. I usually use them to kill off wounded ships. The Conda can use them well since the small hardpoints are placed terribly, atleast with torpedos they can be utilized...also torpedos are only 15,000 a shot not 40,000

I might give that a go , I'm currently sat at founder's world in my corvette wondering how to mix up my weapons. I have two large beam one large pulse and the rest multi at the moment but I feel the need for a change, those small hardpoints bug the hell out of me tbh.

Same for me on my conda. I tend to hold torp tubes on my class ones, but I rarely use them. Kinda of an insurance policy if you will. I might try seekers again for the really small ships but idk.

I have experimented with torpedos on my courier. I had a beam laser on the underside and heat seeking torpedos on the wings. If the target has shields down, they are devastating especially with module targeting. Ammo is an issue. Game could benefit from being able to use cargo racks to store additional munitions. Thing I have noticed with torpedos is that if you equip a ship with them only and wing up with other ships to strip shields and provide covering fire, a well armored ship could tank and be essentially artillery. Could make for fun times in CZ or HazRes

Amen to that.
Also how about letting us split up the sizes of the hull slots.
Splitting a size 4 into a 2 and two 1's for example.
It would work much better if the ship had a set size and you could split it up how you saw fit.
We would have a lot more options on tailoring the build.

I made a topic about that once, an idea to pay to remodel inner compartments in a ship. Variety rocks
