Hi commanders,
I thought that some of you might be interested to know the result of a quick test I performed.
Target:
- Mostly harmless T9 (at a Seeking Goods convoy)
- Shieldless.
- I assume it has no Hull Reinforcement Packages and the default Lightweight Alloy bulkhead, it should have 432 hull points (based on http://edshipyard.com).
Results:
- Each torpedos I fired did 35% hull damage.
- Each missiles did 4 % hull damage.
Conclusion:
- Against a large hull, a single torpedo does about 150 hull damage points, and a missile only 17.
- It seems to me that torpedos are not affected by hull size (like a class 1 / class 2 multi-cannon does respectively only 33% / 66% damage to large hull. Otherwise it would mean that a single torpedo would do 300 against a medium hull and 450 against a small hull, which is not what I have observed.
- As far as I remember, it takes 4 missiles to take down an Eagle (no shield). This tends to point that as well, missiles are not affected by hull size...they are simply weak.
Remark:
Torpedos fire pretty fast (see video below, at 1m45s) unlike seeker missiles. This makes them a terrific weapon to end up a fight in a PvP joust.
