Total Download Size?

Hallo everyone, not sure if I'm posting this in the right section, but I wanted to ask what the total download size of the game will be. I bought the base game as well as the horizon dlc off of steam and it would be nice to know about how big the download will be since I have a metered data allowance.

Depends where you get it from.

~15GB if downloaded from Frontier.

Or ~25GB if downloaded from Steam.

It's because the Steam version packs the 32-bit version in as well (I think), while from Frontier you choose specifically what you want.

Even though you have a Steam key I'm pretty sure you can just download from Frontier anyway if you wanted to.

I just installed from scratch on a new PC, post 2.3. It was just over 13Gb for the 64bit Horizons client.

It's pretty good at sorting out a partial install, you could grab half of it one session, then choose to verify files (or just resume the download if you can) to grab the rest.

Is anyone able to confirm that you're able to download the game from Frontier even if you bought it off steam? Being able to cut the download down would definitely be nice, or just being able to download only the 64 bit version from steam.

Well not a second confirmation, but I am sure you can, just not sure of the specifics.

My concern is that you might have to install first from Steam to associate the key to your account. Which if that's how it's done won't help you. :(

If you want to be sure, pop a mesage to support : https://support.frontier.co.uk/login.php?page=contact

They will be glad to help and are usually a very quick turnaround, although because of the 2.3 release they may be snowed under atm.

Alrighty, will do. Thanks for the info

Okay, in case anyone else has this question at some point, I was indeed able to register my steam version of the game on Frontier without having to install it first, so now I can download it from Frontier directly instead of from steam. All I had to do was go into steam and find the CD Keys for the game, and then go to Frontier and enter the keys into the product access key page.
