touch of reality.

So I worked things out....NO Mans Sky, it's failed, refunds arre abound....fail for one major reason...it tried miserably to be Elite...it actually tried to be that. That is the Same reason that Star citizen will not, if if ever gets off the ground.SC is trying to be it's own game, yeah, it's doing      things for that, but they idiots, so I accept that, NMS tried to be, badly Elite, failed, SC, they are not, they have prerended stuff, they have never said they wont'....I personally won't play it as it's not Elite, I've been plaything this game since 1984, but I wll not shut off the future, I just ask, you be true to who you are, I can not play SC, my, me won't let it happen I'm an ED man, have been all my life, but....do not anyone, do not rib those that go to the pre rendered world. That is their choice. I remember when Elite came into this world, and the challenges it faced, though really, it had no challenge, there was nothing like it.

I ask the Elite community, give the original one a chance. I personally will not, I'm a fan boy have been since 1984, the rest of you, just give SC a chance, I will not condone NMS, that game is a full rip off, not only of elite, but a few others, you have google, fine what it did, SC I will never play, won't even look at it, but for what it is...yeah, if your into that look at it..

In before possible merge, or other moderator action, but I think one of the lesser reasons for the backlash over NMS was that a lot of disgruntled, vindictive Elite players were praying it was going to be an Elite: Killer, and it didn't come anywhere close.

No, NMS simply over stretched, reached out too far, Frontier has been doing this for 30 years...they, NMS screwed up, honestly 4 quadrillion staar sysemtes...yeah, they can have that, but, dot he systems have a OMG factor...NO...the whole game, and I have friends that got the refund...they all said NO>...there is nothing spceial with the game...no game has same element as Elite.

it's just a fact

Absolutely agree. NMS was great for the first 2 or three planets. Ok, for the next ten, then.... I cant be bothered to see slight variations on a theme any more.
I still hope my pledge to SC will result in a decent game, but so far... A pretty demo with a lousy flight model in comparison to Elite.

Elite was elite

Elite with blue sky and planets was Elite

Elite first encounters was Elite

Elite Danergerous is Elite

NMS is not Elite

SC is trying to be everything so will it have the Elite feel thing at least ? Wait and see ........................... ............ ......... ....... ...... .... ... .. .. . . .

WOW. That was some read.
I like the look of SC, wont lie about it, but I wont stop playing this version of Elite until the servers go offline. That will be the day I never want to see.

NMS is basically minecraft with better eye candy and spaceships. It will have its devotees - my partner loves it but she doesn't like ED, I like ED and detest NMS. Folks gripe about the fidelity of EDs simulation, but it's still a bit too "simmy" for some folks. It works for me. That doesn't make me a fanboy, it just makes me a gamer with a different play style than the folks who are griping.

Simpler, more accurate argument is they outright lied and misrepresented their game. The features they prophesied and did not ship seemed aimed squarely at the Elite market. The more vitriolic types around here prayed for a mass exodus once it came out, and were the quiter ones asking for their money back when it didn't

Well exactly !

well, the OP is a bit confusing, but yes NMS and SC are not Elite and should not try to be Elite. However they do copy a lot from the game, SC are the most famous copy machine for the moment :)

Elite is awesome and I play it lots.

NMS is relaxing and I play it when chilled and wish I did drugs.

SC is something I'll play later.

More like a lot of people were blatantly lied to about what was and was not in the game, and want the company to be held accountable for that. There are tons of features that are simply not present.

Had they communicated this, and not priced it as a AAA title, it would have been excusable. The whole thing was a scam.

Yeah and I think I covered that in my later post. But you must admit, there was a small subset of malcontents who were really butthurt that NMS didn't crush ED with awesomeness. You know they were all hepped up and ready to inject these forums with braggadocio about how much better NMS was...

... and then it came out. The malcontents are all still here, but they're much subdued as they quietly await word on their refunds.
