Tourist Economies generally suffer from a lack of any kind of commodity to buy - most I've seen sell Hydrogen Fuel (makes sense, need fuel to get around) and Biowaste (when ya gotta go, ya gotta go). And that's it.
Where are the curios, nick-nacks, and souvineers that tourists just can't live without? Where are they "Someone Went All the Way to Hutton Orbital, and All I Got Was this Lousy Tee-Shirt" shirts?
Tourist economies need their trinkets, and they should be akin to Rare Goods - take them further away, sell them for more. And they should also be used in Mission Wrinkles - "Hey Commander, I heard about this place, and I just have to see it, can we stop along the way? Please?" Followed up by a "Oh, that was so great, can you stop and pick me up a commemorative to remember this trip?"
They should have higher quantities than rare goods, but extremely low prices in comparison - in the realm of 50-200 Cr, with a maximum growth value of around 500 Cr if you haul them to the end of the galaxy. They're not meant as regular trade goods after all, but tourist trap filler to make Tourism more Touristy.
File them under "Consumer Items", and only sell them in Tourist Economies, and we've got ourselves a nice little enhancement here.
