Tourist missions: Was gonna say great job but...

Accepted a two-stop sightseeing mission.
First sightseeing spot was a beautiful water world with the clearly marked visitors beacon. Scan it and the passenger says "Okay on to the next stop."

Arrive at Ngabatobii and now nothing.

No further prompts from the passenger.
ADS scan reveals no destination or visitors beacon.
Scan navigation beacon and nothing additional
System map shows nothing.

Been SC'ing around for 20 minutes and...nothing.
Any tips please?

You have to search the POI looked by the passenger (look at your left panel - transactions).

If you don't see it in the "navigation menu", you have to lacate it: it is usually near a planet.

Once you are under 500 ly you should found it (visitor beacon and so on)

This is bang on, the last leg seems to require some effort to find on your part. A quick wiz around the planets checking the left panel will reveal all (eventually).
Looks as though this is intentional design as I've had this on all my tourist missions.

Haven't fitted passenger ship yet in live but in beta visitor beacons didn't show up like cz or res sites if you were too far away from it.

Left panel:

System: Ngbatobii
Tourist Site: Ngbatobii Visitor Beacon
Target Body: LHS 2813 CD 1 < THIS WAS THE FIRST SYSTEM VISITED

Thanks for the advice. I'll fly around the pretty planets and hope something pops up.

EDIT: The first beacon (stop) popped right up.

I think this is a bug as the left does show the first body however the message they send is correct with the right body. Either a quick cruise into the system normally shows up the beacon.

Yes thank you.
Picked what I thought was the prettiest planet, SC'ed around it for a few, and the Visitors Beacon finally appeared in the navigation menu.

Lucky for Harold Walter. Him and his group almost got a tour of the airlock.

Well the one good thing about the sight seeing trips is you get to see pretty stuff but yes, a little tweak would be cool.

Thanks to all. Oh...and Harold thanks you also. Seems he didn't pack his space suit.

just had the same, in system with planets.

What i had to do was fly close to each planet, whilst looking at the left screen and wait for the beacon show up.

For system with loads of planets this would be a real pain.

This is a brutal bug. This needs to fixed ASAP. Wait till you arrive in a system with 30 planets and moons.

Quite agree, unless of course it is intentional - hard to believe a bug like this would be missed. Really slack.

I've found that it helps to "think like a tourist" when they don't tell you where the next beacon is.

If you have a choice between an icy ball, a stony ball, and a gassy ball with giant rings, it'll be the gassy ball with giant rings. Water worlds and earth-like worlds are also popular. Very first multi-stop tour I had I ended up visiting every planet in the system (ten of them, to be exact) to find where the tourist beacon was. Second only took me three. Now I get it right the first or second time.

My first visit was to a point called Reagan's legacy. Transactions screen kept claiming that the next two target bodies were also Reagan's legacy. Galmap was updated, and fortunately last two points were visible in the navigation menu.

It's a known issue that got reported all the way back in beta 1. FD know about it but we don't have a fix yet for whatever reason. Basically the target body field of the mission panel doesn't get updated, so you h e to hunt down the tourist beacon yourself. Sometimes this can mean visiting every darn planet in the system :S

Isn't this exactly what happens in most RL taxi rides? "I want to go here, but I don't know where it is."

Was going to say exactly this. I did this a lot in the past as I travelled to customer sites all over EAME. Some drivers get really annoyed if you can't direct them though, just like some commanders here :)

(P.S. I'd want clear directions over 'go find it' for a taxi run any day)

Yes, it happens in real life and at least I expect the driver to know locations in the same city.

On the other hand, if the driver does not know it IRL, he can look it up in the GPS system. The latter part does not work (correctly) in ED.

Yep. You could end up with quite a system tour till fixed.
Fitted a Advanced Surface Scanner along with the ADS on my passenger ship.
May as well get exploration points also.

Alternatively, you could drop out at the local Nav beacon and scan it by keeping it targeted. This will reveal the complete system to you. Of course, you still need to get <1000ls to the tourist beacon to find it.

I've been doing passenger missions for the last couple days - .. I don't think this is a bug but done intentional to get folks to fly around a bit - not to hand the info directly on a platter but to make one work a bit. Good luck in finding your locations :)
