Not to the same extend as hydrogen, not even close. Hydrogen is ridiculously volatile. And when it goes boom, it goes boom. Gasoline can burn violently, but it won't really explode under any normal use circumstances. It's not even that easy to light on fire.
I think a hydrogen car catching fire inside the Goddard Tunnel will give associations to the Hindenburg, and be expensive to repair afterwards, but there is another problem with hydrogen that is highly overlooked. It's exceptionally difficult to contain and handle without spills, and large amounts of hydrogen added to the atmosphere will cause problems with the ozone layer. No free lunch ;)
