Tracked ride triggers for individual trains/cars.

As we can now attach scenery to trains and cars, it would be nice to be able to set triggers that ony activate for individual trains and cars. So we can attach lights etc to be activated around the layout and not have them activated by other cars and trains. Same with any animated parts attached etc.

Great idea!
I assume you mean when a car reaches a trigger on the track something would get activated at this car only and the same when the next car reaches that trigger...

Exactly that. You have lights or animated parts on a train or car that you want to activate at points around the layout. Train goes into a tunnel so you activate some lights on the train. Or you bring a train to a stop on a break run and want to activate some animated parts that are attached to that train etc.

A simple "only activate for single train" tick box in the trigger edit option menu when you click on a trigger. With a drop down box to select the train or car that can trigger it.

Probably it won't be that easy...
Car activates trigger, trigger activates light on moving car. Sounds simple, but if it comes to more cars/trains (2 or many more) then the game has to know which car's lights have to get activated (might there exist any difference if the light is copied to all cars/trains or attached separately?).

Maybe something like if a light (or animation) itself hits a trigger (checkbox "activate if hitting any trigger" instead of connecting to a specific trigger), it will get activated...

Or if a light (or animation) is connected to more than one triggers, then it will do an action which you can set up in this light's options (e.g. trigger 1= on, trigger 2 = off, trigger 3= on color: red, trigger 4 = on color: blue dimming: 50%).

You connect the trains scenery (lights, animated parts) to the trigger like you normally would. And then set that trigger to "activate on single train" and choose what train from a drop down box.

But then you would have to choose all cars/trains if all of them should do the same thing.

Probably it has to be something like if the light/ animated parts will reach a specific position then they get activated

Maybe a dropdown list per car/train...
car 1: hit trigger 1 then..., hit trigger 2 then...
car 2: hit trigger 1 then..., hit trigger 2 then...
...

Or they would create new triggers from scratch.

In that instance, you would have to set up a trigger for each train. Its a pay off but better than not being able to select individual trains at all.
