TRACKER LIMPETS TO TAG OTHER CMDRS.

Would it be possible to integrate a type of warrant/tracker limpet that one CMDR can covertly or overtly fire/attach to another wanted or notorious CMDR's vessel so as this would light up the targeted ship and its real time location light up on the Galaxy map for all open players to see. Maybe it can locked only to CMDRs who are pledged to a power as somewhat pseudo deputies of the authority.

This would be great for PvPers and Bounty hunters and for other lesser skilled combat CMDRs to have fun against uber or griefer CMDRs. Think of the possibilities. The only way a CMDR would know they are being tracked is when they seem to have bounty hunter CMDRs on their tail all the time.

Actually another suggestion to pseudo deputies would be an enhanced bounty hunter play is to have a new rank of bounty hunter for a power where you can nominate a wanted powerplay CMDR target but if you have to use a specific authority supplied ship that has no cost to its destruction. But if you lose it then you lose rank and will need to grind to get status again.

This would surely put ED ahead of Star Citizen in terms of gameplay.

The last thing we need are more limpets, at least until FDev finally come to their senses and roll all the limpet controllers into one module (or at least make them stackable in one slot).

As for your last sentence, ED is already ahead of SC in terms of gameplay since ED is already a game while SC is pretty much a tech demo at this point.

Good points.

Although Fdev are currently working on the limpet issue.

I noticed a certain CMDR who has over half a billion bounty on their ship which would make a nice reward above all the missions.

Would be nice for a small wing of bounty hunter CMDRs to be able to track and collect as a wing mission and divide the rewards evenly.

Currently there is no game mechanics implemented in the game that I know of apart from tracking by mission boards for the last location and then relying on a chance instance and there is also a chance they would they use Int/Fac to clear the wanted status and waste a bounty hunter's time.

That huge half billion bounty suggests that there is something not quite right with the game that a CMDR can go on a crime spree across the galaxy without a several real CMDR bounty hunters on their tail.

The whole C&P system is broken, always has been. A quick search reminded me of something I read ages ago, when you kill a CMDR who has a bounty the most you can claim from his bounty is 2 million per jurisdiction (it's possible this has changed, but I doubt it), so that 500 mil player bounty, if it's all in one system, is only worth 2 mil to you. That is what is "not quite right with the game" you can track down a player and kill them (not easily as you're right there's few tools available to find one specific player) but it's just not worth it reward-wise.

Also worth pointing out that he may have racked up that bounty in Solo or Private Group, commonly done due to PowerPlay actions, the move by FDev to restrict PP to Open only may work to limit these mass bounties somewhat.

I looked at this proposal and immediately thought, "Great, now the griefers will have the ability to follow you even when you jump away."

I would say that what we need is the ability to track wanted players through their docking at legal stations. That would give value to Anarchy stations, and would also make factionalism meaningful because factions that oppose your wanted status faction wouldn't report you.

For you peeps who are too tired to click on a link:
(mostly cuz it starts with Beacons for locating things after leaving the system, (like mining area's that arent marked with the RES locations, then goes on to say the stuff needed and the last bit about tagging)

I was thinking about asking for maybe one version that can be stuck to an unshielded ship, roid, or outpost that draws in NPC's (and players if their feeling curious or bloodthirsty) like a tracking limpet or something... Having trouble with a settlement or pirate? Tag them! Nothing OP just something to make it more interesting. If this was implemented then the devs could add Tagging Missions where you tag a settlement, or trader ship with a limpet causing a raider pack to swarm whatever was tagged. I can really see that being fun in powerplay as then the limpet would call in the opposing faction for a raid on their hated nemesis! lol

I did mention that the limpets was for WANTED or Notorious CMDRS. It would probably be better if it was a feature of a warrant scanner that it will fire off a tracker limpet that will activate so you can track em should they run or you can just tail em till they get more of a higher bounty.

I like the idea of the immunity at anarchy system bases but would be happy if the current location was in real time at any other system ports.

I can just imagine an armada of harmless neck beard cutters chasing across the bubble while the said perp just switches to solo.

This would work if there weren’t different modes.
