I posted this earlier and received some mixed responses due to the way I had phrased the poll, so I thought I would give it another go.
Below is my original post, and above should be a new multi-choice poll
Please select ONLY 1 of the first 5 options, and any or none of the rest.
I have ignored options for the scan data - as far as I am concerned, if it is implemented in game, then it should be in the scan data, even if it is nowhere else. Although, there may be options to hide data you do not wish to see.

There have been a few discussions about identifying and distinguishing N/PC's.
I am not sure where I sit on this, I quite like the fact the RADAR shows us who is "real" with the hollow markers.
I know there was discussions about whether ships should have to be scanned to give up this information.
either way, one thing has irked me right from the beginning, and that is seeing a name after the initial scan when targeting ship.
I would rather see a ship registration number and have the current commanders name shown in the scan data panel.
I would also like to see the registration painted on the hull.
This would allow for commanders fleeing to change their ship (or possibly get someone to doctor the registration number) so as to try and slip past the pursuer.
An example of what I mean can be seen from previous iterations of Elite, namely FEII and FFE
