Trade tools in VR?

Any trade tools that work well in VR?

Its been while since I played Elite but I used to have a second monitor tracking prices of things where I had visited (did not use online databases). That would be awkward with a headset. I was wondering if there are any tools that would work with an HMD on. For instance, does Trade Computer Extension work?

Trying to pull things together while I wait for my Rift to (finally) ship.

Thanks

Nothing I've found. I don't think Trade Computer Extension works, as it acts as an overlay on the regular monitor with Elite in Borderless mode.

What I've been doing is having my trade data on a Google Spreadsheet on my phone or tablet, and peaking through the nose gap of my DK2. Not ideal, but more convenient than removing the headset. Maybe running Virtual Desktop would be better, so you can Alt-Tab to Excel.

Someone made a script to work in conjunction with voice attack, I can't comment on how good it is, or even provide a link but knowledge is power, especially when Google gets involved.

Thanks, kind of a bummer.

I have never understood why an Starship with advanced computers could not at least record the prices at stations I have visited.
I asked Sandro this during a live stream. It is coming, but no word on when or in what form. Patience.

I've been working on voice recognition for the BPC, but I got a little sidetracked with other stuff. If there's enough interest, I'll pick it up again.

ahh cool.. well that's something I guess. I will cross my fingers it is soon.

How long ago was it that you asked?

I think there will be more interest in that with VR although I wonder how well something like that would work given the nature of the data.

Are there any solutions to this?

I'm lucky enough to have my hands on a Vive, but as a trader it is such a pain pulling my headset off to look at my desktop at each station.

I had hoped there would be something for this in the latest update for today but alas, VR and price tracking still don't work well together..

Hopefully someone will come out with a simple in game mod that can create a display tracking local prices we have seen we can pull up without taking off the head set...

Just something that integrates nicely into Voice Attack would be greatly appreciated Slopey. THe problem is that we won't be able to do OCR for the near future :(

I'm one of the people in the minority who doesn't see the point of trading on autopilot, so I've never seen the appeal of these third party tools. Especially when Elite already provides all the information I need in the game to make a decent profit, and to track down orders for missions.

Of course, for me, most of the fun of the game is flying a spaceship, and visiting new places. Making a profit is merely the icing on the cake.

I just want it to keep track of prices where I have been. I am not looking for the kind of third party tools that some people are using or playing on autopilot. This is a bigger issue in VR because I can't access anything else to record notes on such things without taking off my headset.. then I can't see what i am taking notes of!.

Each to their own. I don't tell you how to enjoy your game, so don't tell me how to enjoy mine. Cheers.

Slowly and precisely speaks into mic "Computer, make me rich".

Joking aside, some kind of VR tool for keeping track of trade prices would be very welcome. I wish we could have some 'Flyinside' type virtual window options, you could use any tool you liked that way.
