Ships Trader Build for 2.1

What do people recommend as a reasonable Armed Trading Anaconda post 2.1?

Here is my current build with 452 tons of cargo space using a 4A Shield Generator: http://coriolis.io/outfit/anaconda/...00605050504040445030301.AwRj4yuqg===.Aw18ZlA=

I have no issues with getting interdicted by NPC's as the ship has sufficient shields and fire power to fight or run.

I am a bit concerned about the new AI in 2.1 and I would rather not find out the hard way (rebuy screen) that my current build is not good enough.

I would be interested in hearing from other CMDR's especially those who have been beta testing.

Thanks

I was interdicted several times today in my Anaconda. I have A4 shields, 4 beams and 2 huge multicannons. I got hammered. This needs a rethink. The upgraded AIs are tough!

Get some Engineered shield boosters, pre 2.1 a 719 MJ shield would have been tough to crack but in Beta I regularly lost a 1500 + MJ shield (heavily modded FDL) to several small fighters, so a larger, slower ship will suffer even more and the NPC's are a lot harder to kill.

One thing to remember is that shields still regen at the same rate as before so they'll take ages to get back to 100% (5 - 10 minutes on station power!), with a 6A shield and upgraded boosters you could be pushing 3000 MJ but the best tactic is not to engage fighter wings as you won't be able to kill them fast enough.

Thanks for tips guys, seems like the best option now is to sacrifice some cargo space for better/upgraded shields and it also looks as though jumping out is a better option than taking on NPC wings!!

Same goes for my trader Python I suppose, oh well guess i will leave the combat stuff for my FDL now - even if a fight goes wrong, the rebuy is a little easier on the credits!!!

Cheers

Something like this should work, 5A Shield, 6 Boosters, 1 Heat Sink, 1 Chaff, 5A SCB. But this setup is not to fight them, but to get away from them. Try and get a Cutter for trading tbh., i know the grind is bad as i went through it, but it is worth it.

I am currently using this build for trading:
http://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial_...18ZZA=.EwBhEYy6dmGYTyA=?bn=Basic Freighter2.1

I dont fight with this, i have another Cutter with 8A Shields and 8A SCB and Military armor for that, but i make money with it and normaly just avoid fights as nothing but another Cutter can mass lock u in it and i havent seen NPC Cutters out that interdict ppl. Also didnt hear about it, so for the moment nothing can even mass lock u. And if u submit (i always do) u are back in supercruise in 30 secs or so.

That Cutter build looks very nice and I am almost there with Imperial rank - if I can survive long enough!!

I have decided to park the Anaconda for a while and drop back to my Python to do some ranking missions (till the AI get sorted with the latest patch).

After spending the last month in my Anaconda, flying the Python again feels like I am flying an Eagle! I was really used to the "feel" of the Anaconda and the Python is very lively in comparison.

Cheers

May I chime in?
I noticed when I dropped into a Nav Beacon I would get hammered instantly for no reason and they were impossible to kill. I didn't have cargo nor was I hostile/wanted. Then I unpledged my Galactic Power. Fixed everything!

Yeah good point about leaving your chosen pledge - after many months with Denton, I decided to leave. Its not worth the extra hassle of dealing with enemy powers right now along with the other crazies out there (and i dont mean other CMDR's).

I wonder how long PP will last now with players reportedly having problems undermining and getting interdicted and killed by deadly PP opponents.

A bit off topic there, but I have decided to park all my big ships for now and just get some throw-away smaller ships.

Actually heading overseas next week, so hopefully by the time I get back there will be a patch or 2 out that addresses the current situation.

Agreed, I mothballed my Conda for a while and made a mission-runner Vulture to try out the new activities without risking the big credits. With the new missions it's possible to make a lot of money in a smaller ship anyway while I save for a better Conda loadout or something else.

If I'm honest, PP is going to die unless it is made more fun to actually participate in. With Engineers it's possible to get cool weapons and shields without needing to pledge, and now the PP NPCs interfere with all other activities in the game. This might just be enough to boot all the casual pledged out of PowerPlay and just leave the hardcore. I know I unpledged after 2.1 hit after one too many random attacks by Deadly Torval's Shields or the like...
