Trader goes hunting

Shooting lazors and blowing things up times are somewhat past me and I enjoy more calm play style but once in a while I cater to my inner demon and jump into some infernal machine of space death and go write the final chapter of some unlucky.

o7 CMDRS,

this is a short tale of a trader who went bounty hunting.

When I got ED I had that goal in mind - take space truck, hit the hyperspace lines and earn credits hauling various goods between the stars. Let the shooting to others. But even they still need food, beverages, victory cigars, fuel, spare parts, medicines and fold out monthly magazines with fluffy felines.

Last year was full of above, seen a chunk of bubble and everyone I met was happy to see me. And my cargo. Even those famished pirates, drooling over some kitchen appliances. Anyway I got as high as Python and Anaconda and was content. But my younger days poked me from time to time, whispering: one more?

Why not, I thought. Browsed some offers and picked a Chieftain. It burned almost half of mu funds, not everything is A-rated and the only engineered part is a FSD. But it's a start and I can try some more thrilling activities than watching menials loading another 50t of biowaste. With a courage of an elderly lion and will strong as socialist politician ruling over not his money I paid a visit to the nearest nav beacon (there was no haz rez in the system).

Good news - I survived without a rebuy screen popping up.
Better news - I managed to kill 4 or 5 ships
Best news - I got paid for that. 170k after repairs and resupply but it is the highest payment I received from combat so far. I also got a promotion but at my stage simple holding a gun and making "imma bad" mimics grants you a promotion alone. In the end - not bad at all. Considering I'm a trader and learn combat on the fly. 6 months more and I may actually try going to some rez site.

For now I must do some reading on how to properly outfit my ship. It has a potential, handles well and I must improve my skills. What is important - this is the first time I wasn't let down after finishing combat.
