TRADING.. -500 buy + 500 sell so 1k per ton ok? or are there things way better?

like topic says...

never found something better than -500from galactic base price and on sell + 500 ontop of it

so around 1k best was 1.2k per ton profit... on 1-2 jump

i have read some comments on yutube video about 2-3.5k per ton...... i belive there just talking s..

but hey i ask here before i waste my time with the 1k per ton trading

i dont want to talk about the fast ruining of those trade routes... so after 3-5 times its down to 70k profit with my 100 ton typ 6 and dropping fast

so i spent more time searching not ruined stations than acutaly trade

I'm with you !K profit per ton in each leg of a trade loop is great. Easy to get one leg, not so easy to get the return journey.
I am quite lucky, in my area there is an Economic Boom which helps with the return leg!

The best I found was 1780 per tone, palladium. But I was in a large ship, so no outposts. There you can make even more.

And regarding 2-3.5 per tone, they calculate return trip. So split that in two.

Some people are using external tools while others have took some hours into discovering a good route. The investment of time for the latter pays off well, just most people are too lazy to do that or think "there should be an in-game way to do it anyway" :D

I find there's a lot of extraction economies selling Gold at 1K below the galactic average, nearby (forgot which kind of economy) that buys them for +500 over the average. So that's 1500 profit per ton on one trip.

Also, Imperial Slaves are relatively easy to find routes for. Any going for ~16000 can easily make you a profit (I believe the galactic average is around 17,200).

They're not all that hard to find. I have a couple of routes I use to grind a few hundred K credits when I need to. The profits from Imperial slaves in the routes I use tend to drop off quite quickly, so it's not something I can grind for hours.

I regularly trade 2500+ per ton on a round trip. In my type 6 at 104 tons this generally bags 1mil an hour to an hour and 10. there are many opportunities about to do so.

Currently getting 1.5k profit on gold in one direction and 750 per ton for something ( can't remember what) on the return. 2 hops.

Found a place where I almost don't even need to jump but I do to keep the prices stable... :)

Just need some luck and...well...I just got lucky...

as other say it is the round trip that counts
a 1500/t trip might not be worth it if the destination has nothing worthwhile for the return trip compared to a pair of systems with 1000/t profit each way.

in fact it is the hourly that really counts. that 1500/t one way is great if the trip is short enough that you dont mind returning empty.

but usually you will like to find a pair of systems (or a round of 3 systems) where each leg is decently profitable and the round trip is short. not too many hops, and importantly stations near the primary sun. (nothing like that 300000Ls SC trip to kill your hourly)

sometimes you find a pair of stations in the same system less than 1Ls from each other and with different economies.
the profits per ton each way do not need to be huge because the roundtrip is so short .

Archanas and Shu Rong, good two way route there. I won't tell you what to trade . . . You'll soon figure it out. Stations are close in.

...

I'm finding smuggling to be an exciting alternative to trading as I have quite the small cargo space, but I'm unsure about getting the type 9, as I like using outposts for trading and smuggling. What would you guys suggest?

Well, that would include the Type 9 and Type 7. Both are considered large and take a large pad. The type 6 is medium so outposts would still work.

Yes, I have been considering this. I'm currently in a hauler at the moment. I might either go for a type 6 or a cobra mkIII in case I feel like doing some bounties on the side.

it only gets worse lol.
once you get to a type 9 you will be introduced to a lovely "bulk tax" basically meaning that FD is punishing you for owning a type 9 or anaconda.
and yes Micheal confirms this.

Typically i find around 2,000 profit per ton round trip. I try to aim for around 2,500 per ton round trip. Once in awhile you can find 3,000 per ton profit round trip, but those are usually 2-3 jumps, so you have to calculate time and determine if it's worth it more than a 1 jump 2,000 profit per ton round trip run.

I've regularly found Gold and Palladium at 800Cr/T and 1100Cr/T below average to buy, and typically around 300 and 450 above respectively, so around 1100 and 1550 profit/T on a one-way trip. But... I don't trade grind, so only do this when it comes up on my nomadic travels. If you just wanna grind away at earning, look at some of the tools talked about earlier in the thread. Rare trading with the new route planner is MUCH easier too. A Cobra can go from Leesti to 39 Tauri on one tank of fuel via the economic hops, and if you offset yourself a few Ly to one side on each journey, you can pick up about 100,000Cr in exploration data on each journey too!

After searching quite a few systems I found a route for my Type 7 that keeps me going for a couple hours. I get about 1200 cr/ton average on both legs (progenitor cells / palladium). However, the demand doesn't hold up very well, and its a 2-jumper since I only have a 16.9 ly range.

Running rares from Leesti/Diso/Lave to 39 Tauri and Fujin while exploring with a surface scanner is my most rewarding way of making money...and by rewarding I mean: it is more varied than just being a mule between 2 systems, you get to fight the odd interdiction or three and find some interesting parts of the universe along the way. Might be a bit off-topic but if mindless trading is your bag...go for it.
