Trading data with Bartender

Because it would be too easy to play and we would actually have fun doing other things... rather than having to look for specific data, on specific places and pray to RNG gods.
I see no logic here as we can trade data in Horizons easily.
Increasing requarement for specific high value data is one of the best solution imo. Yes you can trade horizons data but only ship data. with your logic trading goods with bartender also not good because u can do it in horizons easly!
I think you misunderstood my post.
I was being cynical and I agree that data trading should be also possible in Odyssey.
Yes I agree with this assessment. Opinion Polls are nowhere to be found. Not to mention the media types requested by Wellington Beck are few and far between. Also, I have other types of Data that are useful coming out of my ears. I mean it can be balanced with price. There are a few unlocks/mods I am close to unlocking but, that data type is super rare. It seems most missions offer the same 4 or 5 data types with few exceptions. This would in turn make the "useless" data....useful.
Frontier are basically my old DM from my dungeons and dragons days. We need something, it would make us happy, therefore we can't have it, was her logic.
This is the worst part of Odyssey... Completely forced gameplay to grind out upgrades.

LOL.. I'm in total agreement. I need Chemical Formula. I have 2. I have slaughtered and pillaged four bases with "Chemical Plant" or some such in their names. Any Chemical Formula? NOPE! Got propaganda and duty rota though! So useful! Maybe I should raid habitats and leisure facilities for them?
You want buildings with LABs. Usually turn up in those.
I think on-foot data trader is more urgent than ship engineering balancing.
Maybe it's to get you to play with and trade with players. You can trade all the data you want with players.
You said it yourself it is to keep you grinding. Even in the ship mats grind where they allowed you to trade for them they hid tier 6 mats. Some of the tier 5 mats are a ton more rare than other tier 5 mats. It's a common practice in great game design studios, such as those who make games for facebook. All designed with keeping your zombie backside plugged into their platform.
