Trading Elite Rank

Greetings fellow Commanders,

I'm sorry in advance if this is a really dumb question, but I've been trying to reach the rank of Elite in trading and I'm a little confused about the numbers. When I've looked up the requirements I've seen that it needs 1,011,828,840 on one website, and on another it shows I need 1,015,000,000

My stats show that I'm on 105,214,320. This means I'm quite some way to go to get to Elite in Trading. However, I'm at Trade Tycoon "48%" as you can see in the screenshot.

If I'm almost half way there as a trade tycoon, and the next rank is Elite, then how can I still need nearly 900,000,000 in credits? Have the ranking requirements changed? Because based on these websites above, I shouldn't even be a Tycoon yet.

So confused...

Trade mission rewards also count toward the rank (not sure if 100% or less, but significantly) but do not go into the trade profits which are just from selling commodities.

And of course, these figures are coming from Official Frontier websites, so the information there has to be correct, because we all know if it's posted on the web, it has to be true and accurate.

I've got a feeling there is a profit element to it. I'm not wealthy but am an Entrepreneur and only about 20% behind a friend of mine who has double my assets.

The only difference I can see between us is my trades are all 100% profit. Stolen Diamonds are high value and cost me nothing. His trades are mostly honest.

I could be wrong though, I guess if I am right miners might also gain Trade rank quickly.

this 1 B cr. is for the real trader (A-B-A trading, on demand, etc. state depending trading etc.) (as 150 M was for the real explorer).
there were shortcuts (possible still exist in 2.3 don't know) like sothis smuggle/legal long range runs as the payout did count toward the trading rank but was not shown in the trading profit value (loglically).
on the other hand smuggling and mining also do count for trading rang.
with only 100 M and half into elite you must have done a lot of this stuff ;-)

It's just over 1B in commodities trading + haulage missions, even though haulage doesn't show on your trade stat. I just hit Trade Elite two weeks ago with a 60/40 split, commodities vs haulage.

Maybe if you do it through missions it is quicker than just trading? I am at 66% entrepreneur with only 35 million...

I have done a lot of delivery missions so...

Maybe...:p

Honestly I would like to see a new level added beyond Elite that was plain absurd. I think it would be fun motivation "legendary" sounds good. 10 thousand kills; 20 billion in trading; 10 billion in exploration. Insane? Unfair? Sure but it would be fun and give a new late game target for us.....and we need money to buy a Farragut or interdictor some day I hope!!!

Regarding the Farragut and Interdictor, I think I read somewhere that Frontier have ruled out players ever having these big ships. It'd be amazing to have one and crew it up with other players or NPC's, get them to follow a chain of command and a "Contract" of Employment maybe...ah, one can only speculate.

Trading/ delivery missions dont count as trade profit but counts towards trader ranking. So if you did some sothis long range missions in the past with good payouts its pretty much possible to be tycoon with only a small trade profit.
I can say if you do only commodity trading you will need one bil to get Elite rank.

I have around 800 mil trade profit and did the last few % with long range delivery missions. Not because they where faster just because it was not that boring.
