Trading - Galaxy Map info.

Commanders, hope you have all eaten and drunk too much over the festive period. :)

Now I have a little niggle with the trading information, I have purchased some consumer items with the Galaxy Map information (Blue Line) saying that a certain system with updated trade information wants them, ummmm no they didn't and so far I have gone to 5 systems which apparently want them but nope no luck.

So I either sell them for a loss or just keep flying from system to system :(

Apart from using a 3rd party tool am I doing something wrong.

All the best

Riker13

Sorry Riker13 but all I can say is that IMHO the galaxy map must be on the to do list... enough said probably, not wishing to rub salt in the wound etc but on the other hand how will they know unless we tell them that trading info is worse than useless and the way the galaxy map currently culls potential destinations from visibility and interactive status is also somewhat obstructive, which I trust everyone understands is a polite understatement. :D

It is still a lot of fun to play even with these difficulties but you have to work your way around them. Basically you cannot trade predictively without researching the stations personally and getting market info first hand, I use screenshot records, which I then process to jpg because the bmp is 5 megs each and liable to fill my SSD as I have quite a few. The sooner the game offers this kind of functionality the better IMHO but its early days yet, we are the Elite pioneers.

Happy New Year!

The trade lines on the galactic map are useless. If you have a specific commodity to buy or sell, Google the elite trading bible, this shows what economy types buy and sell. If you want to trade to make money, go to the systems and screen shot the prices then compare. A high-tech to extraction/refinery is a good run.

Bullfrog, Spacejumbofudge many thanks for your comments, yep agree the map needs work. Never mind still a great game :)

Give it time im sure it will be near perfect.
