So it seems to me then when you are swapping out components of your ship (discovery scanners for cargo bays, fuel scoops or mining lasers) that you get back the full price of the component you are replacing. Is that true? Looks to be which is pretty generous. At first I was afraid to swap components too much figuring that I would be losing a little each time.
Anyway I was going to trade in my cobra which is upgraded pretty nicely I think (for me anyways) and get a type-6 transporter to do some full time trading. I was curious so I added up all the upgraded components which came up to about 3.9 million. A new cobra is 350k where I'm at so total value for my cobra is 4.22 million. When I went to trade it in for a base Type 6 transporter which is just over 1 million, it was only giving me 3.7 million on my cobra trade in! I figured I would at least get the 3.9 million back for the components and maybe 50% of a new cobra or something like that. Loosing a half million credits on this trade in which is a pretty big hit. Does this seem right? I guess the answer is to replace all the upgrades on your ship being traded in to the cheapest available before trading it in?
