You can not visit other zoos, the people who visit you are just random NPC Avatars from other players.
And I think you can not sell the animals directly to friends, you have to sell them on the animal market and your friends need to be quick to catch them.

The answer to both your questions is no.
No, you can't visit others zoos. That is not without subscribing to them in the Steam Workshop. In the game others avatars randomly appear in everyone's zoo's.
No, you can't trade animals with specific players. All you can do is place your animals onto the open market and hope your friend is quick enough to purchase the animal.

Just your Avatar will visit other zoo's, so other people can see it and leave a greeting for you 
when they see it. You can only see/visit friends zoo's with their savefile I think - so if you share this with your friends, you can take a look on their zoo's - but it's more a workaround to do so. 
To send each other pictures is very much easier.
