So im out n about n ive come across several USS that are cargo ships advertising, corporation ships, traders etc n wen u open comms they offer to buy stuff "desperately seeking Cha" "green brown black all flavors purchased" n such...can we actually trade with these ships yet? Or is it for show?

When you encounter these ships, if you have the item in your hold that they wish to buy, it will be removed from your cargo holds and you'll receive the credits for it.
No it is not just for show, of you are carrying what they want pull along side and they will but it automatically.
