trading woes

Since there is no wipe I figured I'd try to set up a trade route, but, EVERY station I went to only had low to med demand. Couldn't do any trading.

Another weird thing.... Was getting shot up continuously in federation and anarchy systems while exploring, but made it to a very large alliance system and all the npc's didn't even look at me, but I have no affiliation. I have to explore this some more

Not sure that demand level has anything to do with it. Just find two different system types and work out what is being sold below galactic average at one, take goods to where it is being bought at or above galactic average, sell and make profit. Do the same in reverse. You then have a trading run. May not be the best ever but it will make you profit...

In my experience both demand and supply have a lot to do with buy and sell prices. It stands to reason that an over supply of a commodity in a local system will drive the price below the galactic average and the opposite situation will increase it. High population systems also usually have both a high demand and a high supply for commodities.

Ideally, you need to find two (or more) systems where one has a high supply of commodity A and a high demand of commodity B, and the other has the inverse. A good route, if you can find one, is to buy Superconductors in one system and Progenitor Cells/Performance Enhancers in another. I've found that it's possible to make around 2.5k-3k cr./tonne on a round trip at a route's peak if you're lucky, but don't expect the route to last more than a few days so be prepared to move.

'Everyone' was wrong. Michael Brookes said that while they hoped not to wipe at the end of gamma something may come up that meant that they would be forced to. He was pressured by some forum members for a definitive Yes/No statement and in the end he said that because there was a possibility we should plan for the worst case scenario. In other words, if you're going to play the gamma, realise that you might lose it all. People seemed to think that this meant "Yes we are going to wipe for sure". For the record, Frontier have never, ever, ever said that there would be a wipe before launch.
