Traffic control use 3 letters of CMDR Name? WHY?

Finally we will get some great interactions with flight controllers, but why FD decide to use first 3 letters of CMDR Name as a call? Did they forgot that every ship should has license plate: 2 letter-3 numbers like it was in previews games?

FD, rethink the feature, give us the opportunity to assign numbers plates to our ships!

I don't think there's any issues with callsigns being able to be set in the future, for now though this alone is very nice.

In the future they could maybe make a way to buy call signs in game, you know like a licence plate, cost something and such, give it an advantage when you are flying with that...say for example, if you are flying with such and attacked police for react faster because they know exactly who you are, instead of you being random joe #####. Or similar advantages, maybe increasing your influence gain or such because again, they know exactly who you are, so they know that you for example belong to x faction and always help y.

I'm assuming its because it is a lot easier to vocalise a limited number of characters, than it is to vocalise each commander's name and pronounciation across multiple languages. A shame, as I'd much rather be called CMDR Fidden than Foxtrot-India-Delta and associated make/rank.

Proper pronouncing of all possible names in game, would either mean a sort of text to speech engine in game doing it, but those are really tough to make sound good and varied, and you know human, so this seems like a good compromise.
