Traffic reports - am I reading this wrong? And how's yours?

Happy new year, commanders!

Anyway, enough with the festivities. Can you look at this?

There's no way that 50 pythons have been through here. Is this supposed to be counting unique commanders? Or is it counting the number of visits by a given ship type? I suspect the latter, but does anyone know for sure?

Also, post the traffic reports for your adopted home system(s). As someone who's never encountered another commander (in my home systems) since release, it'd be interesting to compare the volume of traffic.

Cheers.

That means 50 Pythons have entered the system.
That could always be the same Cmdr on a trade route.

Youre missing something important this covers both other players ...... AND NPC TRADERS, PIRATES, MINERS AND SO FORTH

The NPC component is part of the background simulation ( its higher in systems with lots of player missions affecting the balance) for example in mikunn with all the pressure we are putting onsurrounding systems by supporting the dukes expansion over the last week the average NPCs in eneral belonging to the dukes faction has shot up from 1-3 various NPCs ( mostly traders and system auth ships) now up to 20 on approach and 2-3 around station

Nope - only players.

Yep, definitely only players. I am currently on the fringes of Federation space, about to set off for the other side of the Galaxy in a fully kitted Asp. One of the systems I was running some quick Beryllium trades in showed 3 Cobra and 1 ASP as the only ships in the last 24-hours, despite plenty of NPC ships in system.. I jumped out of systemm, grabs some goods, jumped back in, and on docking it showed 3 Cobra and 2 Asps. Repeated the process, and it showed 3 Asps, so it appears it will count individual commanders each time they enter the system.

Out of the way, quiet, has plenty of upgrades in outfitting (if its not available where you are, theres 3 other star ports to choose from) and has an internal trade route thats nets 1076cr profit/tonne one way and 620 cr/tonne on the return journey

looking at the trading route I am currently doing in my T7, I think that it probably counts each of my visits separately.

It is confirmed by Michael Brookes, that these are only players.

You can make the test by yourself. Enter a system multiple times on the same day and observe the counter of your shiptype at a station. It will increase each time.
So it counts the appearance of a shiptype, not the amount of different names of Cmdrs.

Based on my own activities, its number of visits to the system. If you are flying back and forth you will count as multiple visits.

If you are near some core system also directly on some trade route, it is quite possible.

Nah, I'm in a backwater. Or at least, I thought I was.

That means 50 Pythons have entered the system.

Now, that's peace and quiet!

So it counts the appearance of a shiptype, not the amount of different names of Cmdrs.

Too many variables, e.g. another player popping in, to make this 100% accurate test.

So, if it's counting instances of ship type visits rather than unique commanders, this tells me that at least one python pilot is very busy. This may explain the decreasing value of my usual trade routes in the last day...get off my lawn, Python Commander! Ha, that's pretty cool actually.

Cheers.

Good to know that I was probably the only person who'd been to the systems that showed only 1 ship in the last 24 hours :)

Naah....that's rush-hour!

Well yeah, its a traffic report.
Doesnt matter who "drives", or how many return visits there are. It's a traffic report.

Mine says Asp 2, Viper 1, Cobra 4. The cobra 4 is all me. Its a very nice untouched looking trade route I found.

Ive been back another three times and it still says 4 Cobra. So I'm thinking it doesnt count yourself.

In Beta, in the small bubble, it has counted yourself for sure.
Now in Release I have also noticed that it has become a bit sluggish.
Or it doesn't count yourself any more.
