What will happen if you try to dock with your CMDR name only containing 1 to 2 letters or numbers?

With the recent XBOX LIVE gamertag refresh millions of old XBOX Original gamertags were released (like for example my wife has the tag "Midol" and i have the tag "Vim").

I managed to snag a decent number of original tags, such as a nice 3 letter tag i use on my main and a 2 letter tag on a silver account.

Some of my friends managed to also get 1 letter and 2 letter tags.

I was just wondering what would happen if the game cannot find a 3rd letter or number in your gamertag.

For example if your tag is "AR" will it call you Alpha Romeo? Or will the whole process crash since it cannot find the 3rd letter or number?

I don't understand the fuss about those old recycled tags, same as I don't get the personal number plate on cars fascination. Just gives some people the opportunity to look more of a in their cars.

Sorry. I'm grumpy cos working today when should be at home watching server update messages.

If it crashes when one or more of the first three letters aren't alpha then whoever built it would be shot out of a cannon. The whole thing has been in beta for weeks over on pc I wouldn't worry.

BRB changing gamertag.. Q.. Another Q.. And a Batman symbol. :)

There should be no bug. If there's only one or two characters in your Gamertag then they will call you by that name. And numbers are numbers in the NATO phonetic alphabet, so for example if your Gamertag is "AR" then you'll be simply called Alpha Romeo, if it begins with C23 then you'll be called Charlie Two Three. If in any case the System wouldn't be able to handle this scenario then simply submit a bug report and Frontier will fix it. But I wouldn't worry about it too much.
