Training Mission - Neutron Jumps?

As the title suggests, would it be possible to add a lesson to the out of game tutorial missions. I'm currently getting into long distance travel via conventional jumps but at some point the neutron option will become essential. However reading about the process seems there is quite a bit to master and quite a bit that can go wrong. It would be useful to be able to practice rather than attempting in anger, mucking it up and adding my (virtual) little pink body to the star's fuel supply.

I am actually with you on this one, In over a year of gameplay I have never actually attempted a boost jump from a Neutron or white dwarf star. I always get a little concerned with the potential risks should I fail and usually prefer to make a few extra jumps risk free.

Among many other things, It is a definite yes from me for this suggestion! and I am sure many future explores would welcome the idea of tutorials also! +rep! :) o7

It's not as tricky as all that.

- Fit a Fuel Scoop
- Fly to Neutron Star (or White Dwarf)
- Fly through the tip of the jet, angled slightly away from the star, at about 3/4 throttle.

The only real danger is trying to do it too close to the exclusion zone and dropping into normal space - that's an almost certain death.

Point taken, but I would still appreciate the opportunity to practise without playing chicken with the rebuy screen or my painstakingly collected Nav data.

I'd say practice in a Suicidewinder, but as I understand, small ships aren't very hardy in the astrophysical jet. This does need some sort of practice mission, I've never been able get this right.

In lieu of an actual practice mission, it might be beneficial to buy a throwaway ship and practice the technique on a neutron star near the bubble. As far as I know, Jackson's Lighthouse is the closest to inhabited space, about 175 ly from Sol. Get a ship like a stock DBX and see how that works out. Something I've been meaning to do myself but have been too busy.
