Transaction failed

I found a gold mine in void opals. First one for me. Blasted the 'roid apart, let my collector limpets go and as soon as the first one brought a tasty chunk to my beloved ship, I get a Steam hourglass for about 30 seconds and then a message saying the transaction failed and logged me off. Immediately got back in and everything is gone.
