Transaction problem resolved!

On January 1st 2015 at 11pm GMT we had an issue with one of our databases. One of our engineers spotted this immediately and removed the database from circulation. This took around 2 hours to complete, test and make live to commanders. In this time, a relatively small number of commanders were affected by failed transactions and small losses in credits. These commanders should have received their refunds, along with a 20% bonus as in previous instances.


If you are still having problems, please create a support ticket for our customer support team via https://support.elitedangerous.com.


Finally, we do have 24/7 server engineer coverage over the holiday period to catch problems such as these. However, to further communicate these issues to commanders, we are currently working on creating a server status page where we can communicate any immediate issues or known problems. This should be live within the week.

And what about the people that made billions of credits because of this?

Make the Elite competition a little meaningless doesn't it?
 
I'm afraid it's not been resolved.
I wasn't affected by "the big bug" on 1 January - I logged off before it happened and haven't logged in since to avoid probelms arising on my account.
However seeing this statement I logged in today and after a few runs I started having issues right now: stolen cargo (computer components) are appeared in my cargo hold...
So this mess is still around affecting those too who wasn't involved earlier.

Now I hold off until it's really been resolved (probably somewhere next week).
 
OK so the problem still exists for me.

I think what's happened is Andrew is saying they've addressed a subset of the issues specifically the ones where money only has been lost i.e. the straightforward cases.

Since I am still having issues with stuck ghost cargo I've submitted another ticket as advised even though it means I now have two tickets running for this.
 
bow ... they post this in the middle of a support thread in the support forum where the most user will miss it?

An update:
I logged in again and did a few more trading runs - no glitches came this time, it was all prompt and clear.
Also I travelled about 300 ly distance and no bugs appeared.

I don't say if this means anything but may give a better picture. Will further test tomorrow.
