Isnt it logical ? I mean lets take this as if ED is a real life. So you have a Figter Jet and destroy some terorists base. But then your aircraft gets destroyed so you eject. Does the money still go to you if you are able to survive ? I think yes. So Yeah i think that transaction or maybe a part of them should still be redeemable after getting destroyed.

E:D is a game, not reality. Part of the game rules is there is a risk of loss if you push your luck in all major roles - exploration, trade and combat. That's the game. Without the risk of loss there is no game. I could kill Anacondas all day in the free sidewinder and risk nothing.
