Transfer custom bindings from original to Steam

I have a custom bindings file for my Thrustmaster T.16000 hotas for my original install. Works great. However, I cannot find out how to transfer that binding file into my Steam install. Does anyone know how this is done? Thanks in advance for your help.

Copy it to
C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings\

Hello Rex, thanks for this response.

If I understand correctly you are talking about transfering the Steam install binding over to the original install. I'm looking to go the other way, from my original to Steam. And I have no idea and can't find where Steam installs keep their custom bindings. :(

IIRC its the same location regardless of the install location. I know on my machine, using the Steam version, that its the same path that RexKraemer shared earlier.

Just make sure you have made a backup copy (always) :)

That is the path my steam installation uses.

Make a copy of the custom bindings file and then open the game thru steam, see if your bindings are set...

They should be available in game in Options -> Controls -> Presets
Its on top and it is a Combobox where you can choose from all existing .binds files

Make sure that binds file has a unique name. It will make it easier to transfer and find in the new install, and also make it less likely it'll be overwritten in a future update.

But not stored in the same directory or you will confuse E D (see below).

Make sure you also change the name in line 2 of the binds file as that is where E D looks to identify the file (which is why copies in the same directory confuse the game).
