Be warned. You lose all progress - Engineers, Guardian unlocks, etc.

Generally it is not worth it, unless you leave PS4 for good - you will quickly make up the money on the new account with the experience you gained, and you still have your old CMDR whenever you want to wing up with old friends, or your PC breaks, or whatever.
