Transfer to a potato. Question from a total ignorant.

Hi. Transfer is good news, but I can't afford a decent PC in a near future, and for near future I mean 2 years, more or less. My 10 years old office Lenovo potato can't run ED (not even tetris I believe), but my question is: could I buy the game, install it, and do the transfer? Because I understood that the transfer would be for a limited time from september (maybe I am wrong). So in case I can buy a decent gaming PC in the future, I'd have a PC account already, right? (Even though I'd need to buy the game again I guess). I don't know if I make myself clear, my english is awful, so I apologize for that.
Thanks! o7

You "shouldn't" need to buy the game "again", I recently built a new PC and installed Elite Dangerous on it even though I had it on another PC.

Its really an "account", and content, for the game that is being transferred from console.

However, FD have stated that the "free PC version" will be time limited. So I think @Aenaptyx has this in mind and I would suggest all he has to do is request the free PC version, install the launcher, etc and there they have a free version - even if the game won't run, the launcher should and basically that's all they need to set up and validate (presumably one wouldn't even have to do that, just make the new frontierstore account should suffice). The console version will still be available and when the time comes that they have a PC that can run the game, they just install it on that.

Oh, that was super helpful. I am a total ignorant about gaming on PC (or PCs in general). Thank you very very much for all the info!
