Transferring Wealth

Okay, so a friend just stacked his Conda whilst rather foolishly flying without enough for the rebuy. He was worth about 190m beforehand, and now, only pennies.

I'd like to help him out, so he can get back on his feet quickly. I fear he'll quit entirely otherwise. However I know I cannot just transfer him money and appreciate the reasons why.

But aside from meeting him in space and dropping tons of palladium for him to scoop up, can anyone thing of a better way for me to donate him some credits?

Build up a large bounty on yourself and hop in a sidey. Have him scan you with a kill warrant scanner and kill you to take the bounty. Faster than scooping.

Give him cargo - have him fit a cargo limpit controller to collect them.

Alternatively, point out to him that he was an idiot, say "told you so" or "ner ner ner ner ner" and hope he continues playing

To my knowledge, all you can do is trade cargo. I think Frontier don't want to add credit exchanging to avoid people buy/selling credits with third parties for real money, although this can still be done with cargo so...

Millions are transferred every day through bounties, which has always been the case. Cargo is too slow because the limpets blow up on each run for palladium canisters, etc. They do NOT blow up on every run during mining however. Seems suspicious doesn't it?

I've personally seen people transfer 200 million through bounties in the past (December of last year there were people with upwards of 100m bounties on them).

.... not as easy now that there is a bounty limit of 1M Cr. limit per jurisdiction though.

He could raise a ticket with support. They helped me out when I lost my Anaconda and I had the insurance but it would then left me without. Within a day FD had restored my save

Well, in this special, one-off case I'm sure support can transfer the credits over without any problems. Are they willing? I don't know.

I don't mean for support to transfer the credits! I mean they will restore his mate's save to a previous one

Why would they do that? If he lost everything because of a bug that's fair. If he just decided to fly without insurance, then why should they give him his ship back?

Please... if they refund him for taking a chance and flying around without insurance, then he is setting precedence. I will quickly do the same with all my ships. Blow all the credits on upgrades and cargo and if I get killed... /file ticket to restore save.

Too late. FD has consistently been way too lenient with losers, cheaters, hackers and general bungholes. The only thing that should be given to people who lose a conda through insurance is a free decal saying "I am a total loser, please make fun of me".

+1 rep for this, made me laugh ... :D

Depending on what ship you have (and if you have a good trade route), wing up with him and go trading. He will get a 5% trade dividend based on your profit margins. OK, 5% might not seem much, but it can help him off to a better start than he currently has.

This again?

You are supposed to make your own way, not be a "degenerate freeloader".

Do not give another player anything - ever. It's against the spirit of the game.
