Can someone who is British please translate this little bit in the newsletter to American, please? "Although support for the Durius government has risen slightly since Patreus' intervention, the outcome is still very much in the balance.."

What does, "still very much In the balance" mean? How is anyone who's not British supposed to understand this? ;D

It should be obvious that the rest of the world is not going to be privy to your ancient and weird sayings/customs.

I mean, it's nonsense... am I right? ;D

In the balance means that it's either/or, can go one way or the other.

It means that the outcome is not determined yet, it can swing either way.. I.e. In the balance.
