Engineers Transmitter Outside Shajn Market

I was running a few cargo missions out of HIP 20277 today and one of them required me to go to Shajn Market in Kamadhenu. As I was requesting docking I noticed there was a transmitter in the contacts panel. It was quite some time since I was in that neck of the galaxy and I was wondering when it got placed there, and what its purpose is. The transmitter sits about 740 km away from the station and didn't show up in the nav panel, only in the contacts. I flew out to it, but couldn't interact with it using my data link.

I read your post this morning, so I went out to this system (Kamadhenu) and had a look around. Docked at the station and then took my ship about 750km out and pootled around to see if anything showed up on navigation plus contacts panels.
No luck I'm afraid, but I did run into a Thargoid vessel that was scanning? the Demeter Class Agricultural Vessel that's listed in the nav panel. [woah]....

It's the old Aegis transmitter from when the starport was last targeted by Thargoids, they hang around afterwards.
