General / Off-Topic Transparency between Frontier and the Community

Hi guys :)

Thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts in here; it means a lot to read that you are passionate about the game and how we communicate.

We still communicate as much as we can in the following ways:
- Doing daily social posts
- Engaging on the forums, discord, and the subreddit
- Hosting 2-3 weekly livestreams (still same time, same place)
- Sending a bi-weekly newsletter
- Organising and attending community meet-ups (Gamescom, PAX West, Efteling)
- Running competitions (currently the Frontier Funfair one, in the News section)

We just had the Vintage Pack release recently, as well as the free update, which we showed off in special livestreams with Sam Denney, plus all of the other screenshots and the trailer that went live as well.

As always, we will continue to communicate as much as we can and tell you about any news when we're ready to share!
Thanks again.

Thank you Bo! [heart]

I´ve been reading through the forums for past few weeks. I must admit I see why some people complain about the communication. I think you shouldn´t be woried to be open a bit more. That doesn´t mean to tell us everything, really not.

For instance, I noticed a lot of people complaining about some UI related issues. You say the team listen to us, so I take it there must be some work going on on this (or at least in my eyes, it should, because it really seems like a lot of people have some problems related to UI). It wouldn´t hurt in anyway to release few dev.blogs, sharing progress on the UI tweaks. Even better, people could help you to tell you whatever you go in the right direction or not. And of course, similar way could be implement to other things you are probably working on based on the feedback.

Better communication doesn´t have to mean to tell us what rides are going to be added, what will be the next DLC. I had the feeling you don´t rly communicate, just use a marketing speech and honestly, that might be very unpleasant to see for some people. This way of communication has every other company around, why don´t you take it to the next level and be better? Your PR is great, it rly is, but not the communication with actual community. Just my thoughts. Maybe you could rly consider dev.blogs I mentioned, at lest from time to time ;)

Agree with your post, especially with the last part you nailed it. Dev blogs could be a good idea IF they're not just another marketing tool. (Look at the "Management matters" video to see how not to do it - I find it highly misleading.)

It should have been clear from the earlier posts in this thread that it's not the PR / marketing that's lacking. So to see you, Bo, pointing at streams, newsletters etc. is kind of ironic. More "PR talk" isn't a very convincing response to the issue raised in here, if you know what I mean.
