Newcomer / Intro Transporting rare goods

I was transporting rare goods in my Adder, and was fuel scooping and go too close to a star. I was in the process of jumping away through the escape vector when suddenly my cargo hatch malfunctions. I check my cargo hold and sure enough, my cargo is gone.

Yep.. your cargo hatch can also be damaged by weapons fire causing you to drop some or all of your cargo. CMDR Pirates may do this. Not sure if an NPC will try it.

Well this is never happened to me before, so is it just something that happens when you are doing a trade run?

Any damaged system can malfunction, but you'll only notice the cargo hatch going haywire when it ejects your cargo. When your hold is empty it doesn't make a difference. Next time be more careful when scooping.

Managed to transport a load of rare goods finally. Wow, you sure make a lot from that.

Oh yea, when you can afford it, kit out a cobra with the full 60T it can carry.. that will keep you going a while. When you get bored you can refit the cobra for hunting NPC bounties.
