Traveling within system

Can anyone tell me if the way we travel within system now is final?

After a very short period of time I'm finding the system travel to be akin to pulling out the hairs in my leg one by one.

Having to manually slow down and line up is engaging and excellent fun, for the first 3 times then I am like "ok that was nice, where is the auto button". This system is not "hardcore" its tedious, repetitive, repetitive, repetitive, repetitive, repetitive and dull. I sincerley hope this is not the only way we can navigate.

There is the auto function that matches your velocity with distance and time to target. So when you have manually lined up, adjusted throttle when you reach about six seconds from target, then you just coast the test of the East in. Much easier than it was in Frontier IMO.

You don't need to slow down manually at all, just keep the throttle in the blue region, and it really doesn't take very long at all.
I don't really see the problem... it's also pretty, and now there's more and more stuff actually happening in supercruise.

So would you like to have an auto-pilot funcion or you want instant travel? What is your suggestion?

I am fine with this system btw.

It's still an order of magnitude faster than programming a Flight Control Computer in a modern jetliner. Considering the factors such as the position and velocity of your ship and the position and velocity of the target, all in a four dimensional space time model, we're lucky to get anywhere.

One area I concur with is the target selection tools for in-cockpit navigation. It works be nice to have a mini system map to help select the correct station. Especially now that systems have many more stations and outposts with different economies and governing factions.

Just an auto pilot of sorts to be honest, don't mind waiting when its a distant place and having that element of reality but having to control the speed manually (I have noticed a kind of semi automatic speed adjustment but that is not very helpful), was thinking perhaps being able to upgrade a navigational computer to automatically take you to the safe drop out distance.

If we could simply buy an advanced type of navigational computer that would give those who don't want to bother with the current system the ability to upgrade and this also gives us another thing to aim for when earning credits and those who like the current system can save their credits and be happy.

Everyone wins right?

When I am traveling within system I pretty much want to only have to worry about being intradected, it may be a dirty word here but the system of navigation in Freelancer however "unrealistic" was very good and just felt more like what it should be like.

I am always overshooting the target, i used to do emergency stops but now i just pull back on the trackball and loop back, your speed bleeds off very quickly and boom your at your destination.
