Traversable Area/Escape Points Help

Hi All,
Quick question on an issue you may be able to help with. I recently started using the trick i caught from some of the YT content creators with taking the faux tree trunks, flipping them, & using them in bunches to create barriers. I've used this set up in my African Forest section in my mandrill & gorilla habitats, except both species are able to escape. On the transversable area map, it does show they're able to climb parts of the barrier, but not enough to escape (to me at least). Can anyone that has used this way of building their habitat barriers had this issue and/or know how they kept their animals in? Thank you all in advance!

Have you tried using the collection of faux rocks in front of the barrier? I don't think gorillas and Mandrills can walk over those if they are not sunk in the ground (though I may be wrong)

Another trick is using elephant grass upside down just below the surface. So far I haven't found a single animal able to traverse over this. You should be able to keep the animals away from your barrier and prevent them from escaping that way.

Ooo, I didn't know about this, I'm definitely going to use that trick as I always use the rocks which is a lot of peices

Thank you

Also, many of the builders you'll see work solely in Sandbox and they turn off animal escapes, which solves the problem nicely.

That said, elephant grass is a good go-to and many animals cannot climb even the lowest rocks.

So for those who haven't used elephant grass in the past, it only works with the biggest one (I believe it is 4m). I've been using it for my walkthrough animals without using the insane gates. For instance, my entrance usually has peafowl running around. It looks like they are semi-free roaming, but all the places my guests can leave the habitat, the animals are kept in with elephant grass. Then I just add fake wildliferosters to the floor to make it look like the animals cannot leave. Or I don't do that at all and pretent the animals can leave as well but just choose not too.

Another use is when some climbable structure is just outside of the habitat and for some insane reason the animals can escape via this. I've had this happen with my macaque habitat. I had a wooden framed education board just outide the habitat and the damned macaques could use it to escape. Even when I moved the education board further away from the habitat they could still escape. Placed elephant grass and poof, problem solved.

Omg, this bizarre escape method drives me crazy and I didn't know there was a way to solve it, thank you so much

I think the issue with escapes due to nearby climbable objects has to do with basically the animations and hit boxes. The 'climbable' function overrides the existence of walls/whatever so they can clip out of their enclosure when their own hitbox intereacts with the climbable function of the object. Good to know that the elephant grass can be ussed that way too.

Thank you all for your suggestions - I'll give them a go & hopefully I'll stop getting alarms that one of the apes have escaped!
