Triangles vs Squares (Sensor Talk)

I have yet to figure out what those symbols dictate. I first thought it meant scanned and unscanned.

Any answers? It just dawned on me that it could mean hardpoints deployed/retracted.

Square = hardpoints retracted
Triangle = deployed

Your dawning was correct - triangle is hardpoints deployed.
I assume you know that hollow is a player ship?

Hardpoints it is. Triangle deployed, square retracted. Hollow version of both means Human Commander (Player)
