Tribbles,, the trouble with Tribbles.

some of you must remember the orignial game,, and that missoin you could buy one for some credits,,,
and then they grew,, quitely in the cargo hold,, and grew,,

breeded and grew,,

one day you were buying cargo and less cargo space,, how so? looking . suddenly youre one cute tribble is now 2500 tribbles,, that explains those coo coo sounds you heard while flying around,,
it was a problem to worry about later,, you thought,
days later ,, that coo coo, cute factor has expired it has now built to a crescendo of COOOOO COOOOO!! raging COOOooo!!! ,, now 35,000 are in the cargo hold and you cannot fill it with cargo!

now while contemplating what youre to do with this now priority situation you didnt think could possibly happen after buying that one tribble for 3000 credit or so....
with that in the back of youre mind, setting a route to the nearest starport some furry critter starts to crawl up the cockpit window,,, across the dashboard!,,, OMG,, where did that come from,,, and as the noise intensifies from the frantic tribbles more and more crawl out,,

it got to the point you could sometimes not see infront of you for furry pets everywhere in youre ship,,,
not sure how could play with this in the modern game,, in the end i found only way was to destroy youre ship and use escape pod and restart,, but even then like in the film alien , one got in!
you could get back and restart alas with just a few tribbles,, in time they would breed again,
i never did find a solution to that problem with the old game, been so long, but would be fun if they did re introduce them,, could even trade them as a rare good, tribble meat, but tricky to deal :D

The "solution" was to fuel-scoop and cook them off. In the modern game, Tribble meat could be a delightful delicacy, or a banned substance, and holding or cooking them could make those Alien Rights Activists try to blow you up.

One thing I would like to see though - is letting them breed up to high levels, and then shoot them out of a cannon. Unlimited ammunition, low heat, perfect.

The ships in elite have no artificial gravity too. Imagine being immersed in a cloud of tribbles while you're trying to line up at an outpost.

Nevermind the cloud of Trumbles, watch out for the trail of floating poop they thoughtfully poop
