Tricked enemy pilot to drop shields!

Like that load out.

Didn't realise how sweet those Flechette launchers are, may well get myself some of those.

I will never understand why Cmdrs try to boost away in a straight line. Since FD want people to engage in PvP, they should at least provide some basic training for survival techniques.

He was also in a type 10 Vs a Courier and he didnt even attempt to defend himself he just panicked and ran.

And the point of this? You need complements for being a sociopath?
No complements here.

It was a power play enemy wasn't it?

Hence the message about bearing the markings of their enemy.

Right?

If so, well... That's about as legit as it gets, so not sure what's sociopathic about it.

If it was a totally random kill for the heck of it, well, I wouldn't call it sociopathic, just kind of pointless and silly.

Most PKers have massive egos. Some even hide their need to cause someone else pain and suffering behind the guise of "roll play" or "immersion". Some things will just never change. #nohopeforhumanity

I can't watch the video right now, how long does it take to drop shields?

The vid is 6 mins long... The commander drops his own shields 4.5 minutes in as a result of a reboot because OP (i assume) used flechette launchers to kill the ships thrusters.

I wouldnt argue it a trick as the OP suggests.... and the killed commanders shields were holding up well enough until he rebooted. Because he was moving/drifting (thrusters out) post reboot the shields would not rebuild. The hull didnt last long without the shields.

You tricked him? I don't think so, seems like he was attempting a reboot since you took out his drives with flechette launchers. Bit of a stretch to call that a trick.

Thanks. It sounds like he boosted in a straight line for 5 minutes. T10 mass locked by a courier?

Based on my previous kills, whenever I destroy the thrusters, the enemy would just drift helplessly while I shoot its power plant with Flechettes. This time, I stopped shooting once thrusters went out. I turned on silent running and backed away so I will drop off his scanner and will appear like I'm out of range. If I had kept the pressure and kept shooting, he wouldn't have considered rebooting because his was still in imminent danger.

So by going silent, he could no longer target me to determine range. On his scanner I would appear un-resolved and out of range. So he must have assumed it was safe to reboot, but in reality, I was well within firing range, just not detectable. That as the trick to have him drop his shields while saving Flechette ammo.

Na'Qan mate, please watch my 3.0.5 bug report vid/thread ...

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...-internal-module-damage?p=6622610#post6622610

... in which in controlled conditions I could do no module damage at all with penetrator dumbfires, ever.

What is going on?

The only difference that I see is that you two are wing'd up. Maybe the experimental wont apply if your in a wing. Just like the healing beams, if you shoot your wingmate, you wont do damage, even when their shields are down. Try not winging up.
