tricks to finding canisters.............HELP!!

I am trying to finish my second mission. I chose to go fine some canisters that are floating in psace only 1 jump from where I started. I have been flying around forever looking anad scanning signals but cannot find them. someone in another thread said they pop up blue on the scanner. but then once you find them how do you use the cargo scoop to get them in your ship?

PS: im in Hawaii and looking for fellow players with similar hours so I could possibly team up!

Look for 'weak signal sources' in your contacts. These are often canisters.

Ignore any regular unidentified signal sources that might pop up, the one you want is specific to that mission and can spawn around any body in the system.

When you first arrive in the system go to the nav beacon and drop out of SC, select the beacon in your target panel and you ship should scan it and you'll get a message telling you which body to search around, once you've got an advanced discovery scanner you can skip this step and just honk instead to find out which body it's near, fly to the body and just hang around until you get a message pop up about it, you should now have the signal source highlighted in blue in your target panel, head there and drop out of SC, cycle through any of the white targets in the area then once you find the canister or whatever you need open your cargo scoop ( O+^ by default ) line the crosshairs of the scoop up with the canister and slowly fly forward, it can be tricky at first and you really need to control your speed, as soon as it's in be prepared to close the scoop and get out of there as sometimes you'll get attacked.
