Tried to demo Elite last Night for a few people that were thinking about buying it....

We had a few friends over last night and we talking about gaming in general, and ED came up, so I decide to show them and tried to do a demo.
Mistake number one.

Needless to say they were very impressed.... NOT!

Did 31 jumps from Ruhini? to WP3 (DW2) last night

5 server drops and each time I had to replot the route when I finally got back on. Not only that, it loses explorer data.

They're a complete joke at this stage.

Did 45 jumps to Rohini last night, mapped a few systems along the way, didn't have any server issues, turned in 30 million in UC data when I arrived.

At this point it would be nice if FDev made a statement about this - I had almost zero issues, but it does seem others are not having the same luck - wold be good to know if FDev are aware, and if they have a probable reason.

I had only one server issue yesterday evening. Before even starting my session. I retried and everything was fine. I wonder if this is a regional issue. I'm from central Europe.

I am in Western Europe so I do not know, but I have friends in the US and UK and Australia and all of us are seeing the issues, trying to do any thing is a wing is next to impossible right now, :(

Its funny, cos doing any pve is when I'm getting kicked off with the same errors shown above, but for pvp practice the last two weeks in a row (4 sessions), it has been flawless, even the instancing has been working perfectly. I think it's got something to do with instance changes cos once we're in the vicinity of the station for pvp practice, we don't leave the instance again until we're finished, hence no issues.

Well I have highend broadband, live 2 miles from the Amazon Server Centre and am getting PP performance.

After a few disconnects I tested my connection to our work servers (Canada, Dublin, Isle Of Man, Germany, New York) and all were top notch. So it's the server centre or the servers or the server topology. ie: Frontiers Problem.

Oddly enough, the only time I got someone to buy elite was some friends came over, we started drinking, and then played CQC and switched off after every death. My K:D has never recovered but it was great fun!

Well, if your friends are going to play the game, they better get used to that and by you showing them it will come as no surprise to them when(If) they buy it!!

Connection errors, server crashes, slow servers etc etc, are part and parcel of this game.

You're lucky - I only have a few friends within visiting range who are interested in gaming in general, and only one or two who might be interested in ED. I showed one friend ED awhile back, and while he found it an interesting game, he didn't commit to buying it. These days I would actively steer friends away from ED, at least on PS4, due to the very buggy nature of the game.

I don't do flat screen games anymore, i don't show off flat screen games anymore.

It's all about VR baby.

When i show someone ED VR they are blown away. Rarely get disconnects in VR
