Trigger a Thargoid Interdiction?

So I was thinking about going after some aliens tonight and actually participating in 2.4

Then I realized I'd have to fly around for 3 hours hoping that an alien would hyperdict me. So I went and played something else instead because that is the most insane thing ever. If I wanted to just stare at stars all night I'd just repeatedly punch myself in the face.

Is there a way to predictably engage the Thargoids?

All you have to do is jump into one of the (hundreds) of "non human signal sources" that are all over the place in the systems close to maia.
It's actually more difficult to avoid them at the moment, especially if your looking for any other signal source (for engineering things), since about 4 out of 5 you find now are thargoid ones.
