Triggering with the Display Sequencer

I have a question: When I have connected a lamppost to the Display Sequencer, can I change the lamppost from going on when it is triggered to going off when it is triggered?

I don't think so. Or at least I haven't found a way.

That's why people are asking for a way to turn out lights when a fireworks show starts, something like that would make it possible.

Could it be a workaround to connect all lights in the surrounding area to a sequencer, that is set to "on" from end to start time of the firework sequencer? So every "normal" light should go off when the time for the firework show is up?

I guess you could do that, making sure you take into consideration whatever your park hours are to make the lights turn on for most of the day.

Or maybe have a chain of sequences, start the sequence at sundown to have the lights turn on, then chain to the next sequencer with your fireworks or other display, then tie the last item to another sequencer that turns them on until sundown...

I can't play right now, but maybe I get a chance to try it out tonight.

Lights can only be active for 60 seconds before they have to be activated again. They also have a 0.1s cooldown after the timer runs out, so you cant just keep reactivating them to keep them on permanently either.

I think it would be better if lights had a simple on and off state that can be set manually or by triggers.

Ah, I didn't know that.

I was thinking that it would be easier to just have a setting for the item that reverses the on-off functionality (thinking programatically) But with that 60 second limit, it would still not work right for longer shows.

Maybe having a "Set to Off" group would work, that sets the selected items to off while the sequencer is active. Not only lights though, it would be nice to have it for music too.

This is how everything should work.

The portcullis is an example of something I wish I had open/closed triggers for.
