Trim videos - Tips for PS4

Just summarized a few tips for trimming videos with the PS4. Hope that helps a bit. If you want to share some Elite videos, have a look at this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/386451-Gameplay-Videos-and-Streams-Share-your-Adventure

General Tips
  • trimming videos significantly reduce the file size and build a good basis for directly uploading or editing them (e.g. with ShareFactory)
  • save a video after every scene you like (Share +

) --> when trimming the video you can jump right to the end and have the scene you want
  • trim your saved videos directly after your play session (as you have the scenes still in mind)
A small tutorial how to trim videos on your PS4 without using ShareFactory (many people don´t seem to know that feature):

  1. Select Capture Gallery

  2. Select the game and video clip you want to trim

  3. Press Options and select Trim

  4. Start the trim process (choose the scene you want to save)

  5. Press OK (overwrite or create a new video). If you want to create a second trimmed video out of the same source file, choose the latter option
  6. Now you can upload a trimmed clip or use the clips as a basis for editing (e.g. with ShareFactory)

Cheers dude. Did someone say that the PS4 automatically records the last 30 minutes of gameplay? If so how does one access this? I have started and ended my own clips form time to time (nothing worth posting as yet)but I would be interested to see if this is true and if so, how it is accessed?

Default is 15 minutes, but you can increase that (and change other things like quality). Settings -> Sharing and Broadcast.

To save the recorded gameplay, just press the share button and after that square. You'll find the vid in your capture gallery (and then see guide above). So you don't have to start and end anything manually.

Sharefactory on ps4 is actually a nice program to put different clips together. See link in op for some examples
