Trinkets of hidden fortune?

Just left my home base and noticed a fight going on.Thats never happened before.
Then I noticed white squares on my scanner,looked at contacts and it showed Trinkets of hidden fortune.
Is there any place I should take them to as I've never came across them before?

I'll hijack this thread since it's not too old, I obtained 2 tons of "trinkets of hidden fortune" from a ship transporting political prisoners that I had to save (payout was 1.2M, political prisoners were legal salvage and mission vanished without being able to claim the payout) and have no use for them. It was in Summerland (near Achenar) and I still have them in my hold.

Here is the in game description:
This container appears to hold an assorted collection of low-value trinkets, knick-knacks and statuettes. Such trinkets are generally used by superstitious pilots to try and win favour with the lady Fortuna. However, these particular knick-knacks have a much more valuable prize hidden within.

So my question is this: has anyone discovered the meaning of this puzzling description ? Maybe something to do with the UA (okay that's pretty far fetched but who knows).

if I could open them and find a trinket for my dashboard, I would be more than happy !

I thought they were a rare, but if not, then they are just something that's illegal all over the place like onionhead in the Federation.

I've only seen them in bulletin board missions. It's usually a payment between 'The Dark Wheel' and some minor faction. The mission descriptions hint that they are hiding something more valuable and that the payments relate to UAs. To be honest I haven't seen any since 1.5/Horizons released.
