I am currently grinding to get my triple payout bonus for exploration credits, by getting rank 5 with LYR via undermining (combat). No need 100m cash up front, and it's not as dangerous as you might think. See this video for how to, including footage of me doing it and plenty of tips.

Wish me luck, 1/3rd of the way to my 350 million credits, haven't even had a close call yet. Just boring!

And how exactly are you going to maintain rank 5 and explore anything meaningful?

I have just got back from an exploration trip (Distant Worlds) and am sitting on I estimate over 100m credits.

Well you must have been doing a lot of honk-jumping instead of scanning stuff.. :D

I dont blame you, im guilty as charged as well and really have to get scanning planets while i still have the chance being 47Kly out.

I might have made more. On the way back I hit a stellar graveyard, and scanned every WW, and random hmcs and has giants. I am excited to know how much I made, could be a lot more than 100m but I doubt it

Sounds about right... Exploring does not make for massive returns on investment. I made 130MCr from my 1st trip to BP and that included a time in the neutron fields. I don't expect that much this time.

I'd be able to strip out the 'conda and have about 200MCr to invest in a combat ship... I guess the Python would be the best bet. I might do this when I get back, could be a laugh :)

With this rank perk, the rewards should put me into a cutter, and a cutter is a perfect trader, so I shall be officially "rich" :D

Well, as im on DW with Python, my jump range is only 26Ly so i can expect a bit more due to needing more jumps and more systems. :)
Depending of course my scanning, but so far i have been lazy as hell.. :eek: I really have to get my scanners working!

I made 379 million on my first 65K trip, 150m on the 2nd and I think about 60m on the 3rd. Estimated 350m for this one. So many variables...

I used my secondary account for DW and just honked most of the way as I did not care about profit or ranking on this one (already have elite on the main one).
So CMDR 3.14285 went out an exploration virgin and come back a pioneer after only netting 63 million.
Thing is though I seem to have suddenly found it hard to leave this neutron field I stumbled on - is it wrong that this is now my dedicated explorer account so one day I will have two elite explorer CMDRs?
