Tritium, Jumpgates, Planets and trading.

What makes distant things valuable is the fact that they are distant.
This made me think, what if distant things were actually more valuable? Right now scanning a system/planet has the same value whether it's 5ly, 500ly, or 50,000ly from Sol. I think it would encourage more exploration if the value of the scan increased in relation to how far away you were. I don't mean that it should be so significant that we have another LTD-type rush where carriers are parked outside Beagle point gobbling up scan data, but up to 5-10% more the further out you are may make it a bit more enticing.

This is already somewhat the case, with the undiscovered multiplier. That's enough to drive players to unexplored space, which is good, but that's only like 3000ly; if you got a much smaller bonus for going much further, most wouldn't care THAT much, so on the whole it would be a mostly unused mechanic.
