Newcomer / Intro Tritium mining

Is tritium mined using a surface mining laser or deep core mining? I went to a tritium hot spot and successfully scanned a number of asteroids that all turned out to be bromellite or something other than tritium. Those asteroids had 4 or 5 tritium in the core but when I used seismic charges to crack the asteroid no tritium was released. Only bromellite was released.

Unless you are exploring with a FC, nobody mines for tritium, you can buy it for peanuts.
All sorts of mining are good for Tritium, surface, sub surface and core all give good results.
Prospect limpets say what is in the core in big blue letters, that's what comes when you crack it.

I'm in a carrier as part of a squad,we are out deep in the black, low on fuel, and it seems at this stage noway to get back.We mine for hours looking for tritium with little or no result. When are the Dev's going to fix this pain? It's a pain a real pain.I'm not asking for heaps of diamonds or opals etc, but we need fuel we need fuel!!!

If you're mining for that long, even in a single tritium hotspot, you should be finding enough via sub-surface mining to keep you topped up. Try and find a tritium hotspot that overlaps with pretty much any other hotspot, and you should be okay (sub-surface mining). Good luck!
